Women in Transport is delighted to announce the launch of the fourth year of Advance - a mentoring programme designed exclusively to support the professional development of our members. Advance offers structured mentoring for women working in transport. Launched in 2017, the programme has supported 160 mentees and mentors to date. Advance 2021 has been made possible with the generous support of TXM Recruit, Xanta Rail and Network for Skills.

It was a lucky day for Women in Transport when Dorcas Ariyo-Francis became a member just over a year ago. She came along to our AGM and, by the end of the evening, pledged to join our team of volunteers. As our Volunteer Engagement Lead, Dorcas has done a really professional job co-ordinating and supervising our team of volunteers for which I, as Events Lead, am truly grateful. Last month, we headed out to Reading for our first Spring Reception outside London. It was an inspirational evening with a keynote from Sir Peter Hendy CBE, Chair of Network Rail, followed by a panel discussion focusing on supporting career advancement for frontline and operational staff with women from across the transport sector who have direct experience of the issues, challenges and opportunities.
